Yesterday marked the beginning of Italian luxury celebrations as Milan opened it’s doors to the seductive, sultry, and sexy collections presented by Gucci and Alberta Ferretti. It’s time for fashion week round three.
On day one of Milan Fashion Week, the Fall 2013-14 shows got off to a captivating start.
Gucci: If Looks Could Kill
Gucci opened our eyes to the dark and sensual woman of the season, as creative director Frida Giannini, presented a powerful and edgy collection for her ready-to-wear showcase.
From the first to the final look, the collection encompassed hyper-feminine silhouettes, luxury tailoring, and embellished evening wear.
Voluminous coats presented themselves over contrasting pencil skirts and trousers, body-conscious dresses were sexed-up with defining contours and plunging necklines, and sophisticated suits were glamoured in shimmering feathered or houndstooth prints. While jeweled tones of garnet, midnight blue, yellow sapphire, amethyst, and amber featured heavily throughout.
And as the glitterati left the Gucci show thirsty for more, they didn’t have to wait too long to see the latest offerings from Alberta Ferretti's Fall 2013-14 collection.

Alberta Ferretti: Authentic & Elegant
This season at Alberta Ferretti went for a more minimalist approach than we are used to seeing from the queen of sheen, who referred back to her signature cuts and silhouettes for Fall. Runway looks resonated an Edwardian vibe, with high necklines dominating throughout and clean-cut monochrome ensembles exuding sophisticated beauty and sensuality.
Black ribbons, subtle lace embroidery, tiered frills, and bursts of color injected a modern youth into Ferretti's refined catwalk looks.
